Aprilaire® humidifiers are built to remedy your home’s dry air needs by adding just the right amount of moisture. With easy-to-use added digital controls, you can set (even from your smartphone app) the correct relative humidity from your home and forget it.
Keeping your home’s humidity in the optimal range is important for maintaining proper indoor air quality. Dry air lowers your body’s immune response, cracks your home’s wood furnishings, and dries out your skin, eyes, and nose.
During winter months, properly humidified air can reduce the transmission of viruses like the flu by up to 30%, in addition to reducing asthma flares, and helping your sleep better.
How It Works
The Aprilaire® humidifiers works by piping water into the distribution tray located at the top of the humidifier. The water is uniformly distributed across the width of the tray and through a scientifically designed system of outlets. It flows by gravity over the water panel evaporator. Dry, hot air from the HVAC system is moved through the moisture-laden water panel evaporator. Natural evaporation takes place, the water is turned to vapor, and the humidified air is circulated throughout your home.
